Franz Schubert: String Quintet in C arr. ZRI
Shepherd melodies from the Carpathian mountains,
klezmer dances, and traditional folk music.
International musicians, ZRI, dazzled a full house in 2014 with their
‘Brahms & the Gypsy’ programme. They present Schubert’s famous
quintet interweaved with an intoxicating mix of gypsy music,
re-creating the atmosphere of Zum Roten Igel, the Red Hedgehog
Tavern in Vienna, where Schubert and Brahms went to hear gypsy music.
ZRI musicians work with The Burning Bush, The Dufay Collective, and
orchestras and have given concerts from New York to Glastonbury.
The beautifully refurbished church will be candlelit for the occasion.
